AllPencilsDown is a partnership owned by
George Mizzell and Laura McDanal. For over 10 years of we have been providing ACT/SAT test
preparation classes and one on one tutoring
services, we have studied over 40 former ACT tests to pull together everything
students need to know in order to perform well
on test day. The classes in our area frequently
reach maximum capacity, so many students enjoy participating in our online class. Students can work threir way through the class videos and through the homework and get the preparation they need whereever they are located. We have had students go through our courses from China and India as well as all over the US. We would love to have your students join our class without having to travel:).

About the Instructors
Laura McDanal is a graduate of
Southern Wesleyan University--Central, South
Carolina with a BA degree in English and a
Master's degree in English Education from The
University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). Laura
is a State Certified Teacher with experience
teaching 11th and 12th grade English--Hoover
High School. She has over 10 years’ ACT/SAT
tutoring experience with a strength in writing
skills, grammar mechanics, reading effectiveness
coaching, and vocabulary building. She also has
experience with English as a Second Language
students, specifically Japanese students. NOTE: Laura is not tutoring at this time because she is enjoying the demands of being "Mom".
George Mizzell is a 1979
graduate of UAB Engineering School -
specializing in Electrical. George has a strong
passion for helping students understand Math and
Science. He was employed almost 15 years as an
engineer with Alabama Power, and over 10 years consulting in many areas such as engineering,
programming, organizational effectiveness, and
marketing. George has developed a wide
range of Hands-On Science classes, and these
classes have been quite successful and enjoyed
by thousands of energetic students. He has
taught as a volunteer in Vestavia Hills schools
for the over 20years. George has been tutoring
one-on-one and teaching ACT/SAT preparation for
the past 15 years and works with about 1,000
students a year in classes and one on one
sessions.
