ACT Online Prep Course

AllPencilsDown has developed a video based version of our popular ACT Boot Camp. This past June, we created the video of our boot camp, including all of the needed materials and resources, as though you had been in the live course.  Naturally, we consider personal attendance the ultimate goal for prime test results, but we continue to have students who are traveling great distances to attend the course. Our concern was that students were expending vast amounts of energy in their commute to the course that they could be spending toward their practice and study time for the ACT.  The video format is not only an excellent alternative for our commuters, but it is also a great option for students who are committed to multiple extra-curricular activities and who, therefore, find it difficult to commit to a weekly course. Math & Science Online Workshop

Are you looking for one more session before the upcoming ACT test?  I wanted to make you aware of something I'm offering to the students: six hours worth of instruction for only $50.00.  It's my new online streaming webcast "class".  
 
I understand that all students would love to have sessions scheduled in the last two to three days before the test but there are only so many time slots in the last three days, so I've developed this as another way to help students work on their Math and Science one last time.
 
The workshop will consists of four total videos - two Math and two Science. These tests have not been used in any tutoring sessions or for classes.  Everyone who signs up for this workshop will be emailed the link to download the problems and print them out.  The videos will be available until the test date.
 
Please Note: This workshop will be on video and is not designed at this time for an interactive exchange with questions, however I will be provide a detailed explanation of every math problem and every science question in the video.  It will be very similar to the way I work through the material in a classroom setting.

PREP COURSE FOR FEB 11,2012 ACT TEST

ACT Review Course - For ACT Test on Feb 11, 2011--This course is designed to help students prepare for the ACT test. This course meets from 5:45 until 9:00 pm on the following dates: Thursday, January 12 and Mon, Jan 16, 23, 30 and Feb 6. Please note that there is only one Thursday class session, and all remaining classes are on Monday evenings. This course is taught at 2183 Parkway Lake Drive Birmingham, AL 35244 (Riverchase, Alabama) *All materials are supplied except pencils and calculators. You will need to register on this site and we will send you a confirmation email with all of the details you might need. If you have additional questions you can contact us by email.

We will be offering this course as an online course as well.  We are working to deliver the course by real-time streaming video but will definitely have the class video available by Tuesday afternoon following each Monday night class.  If your student would prefer to take the course online - continue this registration and send us an email indicating that you prefer the online option.  We will mail all materials to your student prior to the course start date. We hope that this can help to make the course available to students who live long distances from Birmingham or students who have very busy schedules.  More details will be provided with your registration.

Prep Course for April 14, 2012 ACT Test

ACT Review Course - For ACT Test on April 14, 2012, This course is designed to help students prepare for the ACT test. This course meets on Monday nights from 6:00 PM - 8:45 PM on February 27th and March 5th, 12th, 26th and April 2nd, and 9th. Prep Course for Summer Class A- Test Date June 9th, 2012

Our most popular course is the June "Boot Camp" course.  This is the students only chance to prepare for and take the ACT test when they are not working on all their other school work.  The course starts Monday, May 28th and goes through Friday, June 1st from 5:45 PM - 9:00 PM.  We will meet every night (Monday - Friday) at this time covering all 4 subjects every night.  There will be some homework as well.  This class is the week BEFORE the ACT test and we leave the students with a couple of practice tests to work on during the next week.  We will have a brief break around the middle of the class time and we will provide snacks for the students.

Every year our students get the best results from this test.  We provide several parts of the course in the form of online videos that allow the students to start working on weak areas even before class begins.  This course also includes a license for each student to work with the RocketReader Speed Reading software to help them complete the test on time.  Sign up quickly because this class is usually filled by the first of May.

We are delighted to work with Coosa Valley Electric Cooperative as they help us sponsor this course at their corporate Headquarters location in Talladega on Highway 77.  With their sponsorship we are able to offer the course at this special price.

Our most popular course is the June "Boot Camp" course.  This is the students only chance to prepare for and take the ACT test when they are not working on all their other school work.  The course starts Friday, May 25th at 9:30 AM and goes until 1:00 PM.  The second class will be Tuesday May 29th and the other class dates are  Thursday, May 31st; Tuesday, June 5th and Thursday, June 7th.  There will be a brief break with snacks provided but they will need to get lunch after the class ends at 1:00 PM.

This course includes everything our other courses do, but we are able to offer it at the discounted rate because of the generous sponsorship of Coosa Valley Electric Cooperation.

Engllish and Reading Workshop for the February Test 2012

This course is designed to instruct students in English and reading in a one-day workshop format.  A maximum of 9 students will be permitted into the course in an attempt to keep instruction at a personal level. All materials will be provided except pencils. Refreshments will be provided at the designated break time, but students will need to eat lunch prior to the class. Upon registering for the course, please provide detailed information regarding your son or daughter's individual goals and any specific needs or challenges.  This information will allow me to structure the class as much as possible around individual goals.

If paying by check, payment MUST be received within 3 days of the registration. Since there is a maximum number of 9 students permitted, seats cannot be "held" without payment.
